I drive around a lot for work, but I also spend a lot of time at home with a hot drink on the couch, staring into the leafy void of my backyard, and I have season preferences for both. This time of the year I break out some folksy-ish stuff like my Punch Brothers CDs or an Americana/bootgaze playlist on Spotify. I'll listen to those until after Thanksgiving, when I switch to a moody Christmas playlist that includes Sufjan Stevens, Low and Marika Hackman. My husband usually starts to question my mental health around the second week of December, but I find them cozy rather than depressing.

Those are all excellent selections for this time of year

I'm loving this playlist! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a fan of gore or actually scary things but I have been embracing my witchier side as I get older, so I have a list called "Halloweenie." It's all music that feels vaguely spooky/witchy to me, or has fun Halloween connections without being scary or gross. It does a great job of getting me in the mood for mild spooky Fall fun!

I will! I already have a couple of ghost/music themed illustrations out there, I'm trying to wrap up a third one by the end of the month. Some spooky tunes will definitely help :P

I’m a massive fan of What We Do In The Shadows- my husband and I are rather like Nadia and Lazlo. We even did a vampire-themed photo shoot!💕

I'm definitely witchy + gilmore girls playlist Fall vibes. Why? Because I can do it all with a broken heart. That's also a Fall vibe song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl6en1NPTYM

I’m mentally at a witchy disco year-round, so there’s nothing here I don’t love. 😆 Stellar playlist, I dig that so much of it is new. Dark Chisme’s “Sombras” may be my new personality, it’s such a banger. 💟

I love AFI’s All Hallows EP for getting in the Halloween mood! They do a cover of Danzig’s Halloween that I love. I actually heard their cover before the original.

As soon as fall hits I am immediately overcome with the urge to listen to Midwest emo. It happens every year without fall as I find myself drifting toward American Football, Modern Baseball, Mom Jeans, and more 🏈 ⚾ 👖

One of my favorite artists, Matt Pond, has a very autumnal feel to me. I think he’s great at seasonal music, not in obvious ways but his albums often feel like the soundtrack to summer, fall, spring or winter. The albums Dark Leaves and Several Arrows Later feel like the perfect fall records to me.

It's funny how a swap of singer can really change a piece. The original "There She Goes" by The La's is still pretty jangly but with that 90s indie rock guy voice it's a much more run-of-the-mill sound for the era.
